spoon intake (ebay)

The yellow sponge makes it a Spoon filter.

Not sure if it's a recommended practice, but I hosed mine out with some mild dish detergent and dried it in the shade and it at least looks cleaner and probably works better than before.
The version and from Monster (red in color) which actually produces it for Spoon is actually oiled as well. I can't imagine the foam varying too much from the comptech one and it can be cleaned with their Uni kit.

As RagingAngel stated, I don't see any reason why it couldn't be cleaned like other foam element filters can.
