Anybody with Tafetta White Integra having problem matching the paint??????
Well my car is an Integra 2001 and the color is Tafetta White. The Shop that had painted the OEM Body Kit can't match the paint. The paint comes out bright like the one for (98-99) Integras, Frost White. My car right now looks like a puzzle
Has anybody had this problem before? The guy says is difficult to match white or red paint. Any inteligent comments are welcome.

no offense..but a skilled shop should be able to at least get passing results to the human eye.
every time jaeone talks its like its commin straight out of his ***!!!!!!
the reason they cant really get it to match is b/c your car is white and the parts they are painting are plastic.. when they shoot the paint, it never comes out the same tint b/c the parts are plastic/ poly..
take a step back from your car and look at your bumpers compared to your sheetmetal... if u look hard enough u will see they dont match... even w/ factory paint, the colors a lil off... maybe a lil more yellowish or a darker white....it only happens with white or really light colors.... ask any bodyshop painter or estimator.. its hard to get the white to match the sheetmetal parts

I have a 99 Taffeta white GSR and in a couple weeks I am going to have my body kit painted to match, so I hope that they can match it well, they should considering it is a Honda dealer body shop.

yes you can never match it perfectly, but a good paintshop can get it to be so close it's not noticeable, NH38 which is the frost paint code has 30 different chips. I had my bumpers painted before i knew this and it was totally off then i found out you have to pull the chips and match them up. plus paint fades and darkens with time.

I'm going to have my frost white painted tafetta white here soon as well. How much are you guys paying to get thoe whole kit done? I haven't even started looking yet. Hopefully they get it right the first time.
depends, a bargain would be 100 wich would be maco quality, and you can pay upto 500 for a high end shop to do it.
FYI: White is the hardest color to paint. My Integra (Frost White NH-538) just got a body kit painted and it looks two tone. The shop had dupot come out twice and also had another body shop mix paint. I am now getting the whole car painted
Paid $500.00 for body kit a painting and installation. You best bet is to full paint or blend

Hard to paint indeed.
I just had my whole car repainted because the OEM Flamenco Black on the Integra ('96) was the ugliest color black I've seen. Even the other FBlack Teg's appear to be like a charcoal black. It looks dull and harsh with the sun light. I just wasn't happy with the FB OEM color.

I had Taffeta White,..everything matched,.but the OEM kit I had on it didn't match either,..2 different surfaces,.metal and Fiberglass,..will never really match,..PYellow is really bad for that as well.
When I put the JDM front on,..it matched good after about 3 weeks,..has to get sun on it,..thats how it works I think!

Maybe you did not get a good paint job? How much did you pay?
They repainted my kit 4 times and its still not perfect. Its not his fault the paint has 20 different variations
wow..that sucks man...so they have like differences in each code? like itll be listed as taffeta but different numbers? i guess only solution is the whole car done in one color
Yeah its weird because each car is different based on what factory it was painted at. And the car fades over time. Get them to pull color of the car thats the best way to paint it or whole car painting

Today I got installed my OEM Bumper back so I'm selling the Blitz Rear Bumper. Asking $280, local Virginia pick up only. I'm having foot surgery next week so I 'll be out action for a couple of weeks. Email or IM for any questions.
