thinkin of buying a CR-V any suggestions?
i got addicted to hondas by the prelude, and now i want something better for the winter, im thinking of getting a cr-v, i got about $5000 to spend and i want something good and reliable, any models to stay away from? any on going problems with cr-v's? and year specific problems?

Ha! I was going to say the exact opposite! Cuz they waste more gas and they have more parts to replace ie cv boots.
But I guess maybe in Mich. you do need it but down here in Phx AZ its just st00pid.
PS I Love my CRV and cant wait till my 149K mile block finally decides to bite the dust that way i can play around with it a bit.

Haha, I have an H23 Prelude that I love and also a 99 CRV.
If you want it for the winter, definately get an AWD. For only 5k your not going to get one in perfect shape, but you might find a 1st gen for that much.
The only problem I have ever read about the CRV B20s is that you have to stay up on valve adjustments or they can burn exhaust valves easier than most Honda engines.
The 1st gen is basically a Civic-SUV, so there's actually a lot of support for it through the Civic/Integra aftermarket if you need parts or upgrades. I am happy with ours overall.
