Default New to the forum

Hi,
New to the forum. I recently got a 92 eg hatch from the auction at my work for about 450.00, It has a D15B7, currently with a make shift intake ( had nothing )

After the first week of having it home it someone stole it, not getting far due to a leaking wheel cyclinder. The car was recovered. I've fixed what was a wireing nightmare which was my head lights, ( both lights wired to one side with no hi beams, and the cooling fan wired to the headlights. ) Installed a alarm, and relays to prevent further theft. along with making the car harder to get into. The car is lowered with 5 spoke Si 15" rims, but it was lowered by cutting the springs not coil overs.

Hopefully By january I should be getting a older integra with a B16 with boltons.
( AEM intake, DC headers, ) I plan to swap the motor, tranny, axles, ecu, and brakes from the integra to the EG

I'm kinda new to working on cars but my driving style is more canyon and drift
( normally drive RWD )

My goal is Forced Induction on the B16. A nice suspension, I want a set up that will handle well in the canyons but hold its own the strip.
Horsepower goal is from 300-400. My girlfriends brother says he has hooks ups at skunk2.

Price range varies but i'm going to have about 3k from tax returns and i can invest a decent amount from paychecks. I'd like to build power, not just buy it. any one can buy a C6 corvette, but its more fun to build a car to spank that 45,000 car.

What are good brands for suspension, and parts in general ?
Has anyone checked out or used any of the turbonetics GT-K series turbos ?
Any suggestions on where to start?

I know the basics and what I need. but I don't know where to find good cheap parts ( yeah i know its a oxymoron ) and the specifics.

Welcome to the forum!

Sorry to hear about the theft of your (new) car. Good to see you've installed an alarm, but also consider a kill switch to your fuel pump, and make sure to hide it well. There are tutorials in the FAQ section (located in the sticky of this forum).

As far as suspension goes, check out the marketplace section in this forum. You won't be able to access it though until you are no longer a trial member. Koni, Tein, and Ground Control are some respectable brands if you choose to purchase elsewhere.

A B16A is a good engine because its DOHC VTEC, but it has pathetic torque figures. If your goal is 300-400 whp, then you will obviously be going the forced induction route, and of course a little extra displacement wouldn't hurt either...(maybe consider a B18?)

Good luck, and again welcome to the forum!

If its an older integra, it most likely has a cable transmission, you well need to get a hydro tranny before you can put that b series in

you will also need obd1 injectors and dizzy

I have the whole car take what I need. Not just buying motor and tranny. I still have to go look at it though.

I also have installed a kill switch and tighted all the front end, secured the bumper and going to lock the hood closed.

I'll try and get some pics of it today and post. Mind you it needs work. I'm returning it to the stock red to match the door jams and engine bay.
