Default PO8 distributor, was told it was a GSR HELP

I am converting my B16A from OBD0 to OBD1 and ordered a distributor on here a while back from a guy off of this website. I got it and it was dirty as expected just as in the picture. Great. That's fine.

I took it apart and started cleaning it up with with some degreaser and whatnot, and decided to change the rotor and cap on it as well. Well on the GSR distributors there is an inner plastic piece that goes just under the turning rotor that covers the inside up. The P72 piece I have is different in that it is made a different way than the other one. So I flipped over the original one that came on it and it said P08 inside of it.

I searched on this forum to find out what it was for (as it has OBD1 plugs on it), but all I found was a JDM D15B or something.

Can I still use this distributor to run my B16A on a chipped P28? I need to know this because if the answer is no, I'm screwed as to when I can put my motor in this winter. Thanks.

All D15B's you'll find were OBD1 or OBD2, so in that sense, it will work fine. I doubt it will line up, let alone seal correctly. I've never tried a SOHC dizzy in a DOHC though.

I've not seen any #'s on the distributor itself as I cleaned it off completely the other day with Purple power. So in that sense, I have no idea. Are they inside/under the distr. cap.? Thanks for responding peeps. I appreciate it.

it should be on the metal housing of the dizzy. usaully when the dizzy is installed you can read it when standing in front of the car. I believe its stamped in the metal so it should be there unless somebody ground it off
