i have k sports and they are too stiff for daily driving. its is really good on corners, but then too stiff for daily driving...so the question is, would kyb shocks with HR springs be more comfortable... i drive a 94 hatch..

Switch the KYBs for Koni Yellows.

 

stay away from the kyb gr2's...they ride worst than stock and handle only decent. H & R springs ride great and seat pretty low too. i have tokico illumina's and they ride great. you can try those

I had AGX and they were complete crap. Adjustment did almost nothing, and after about six months they were total ish. On 2 of them the rods were completely seized up (if I remember correctly). On one of the other ones, the rod went in, made a gurgling noise, and I couldn't pull it back out again. You're beter off with stock.

 

Koni Yellow are best for you.

 

I've had k-sports and I completely understand what you mean.
I switched those with AGX shocks in the front with 500lb rates (dropzone ftl) and GR2s in the rear with 450lb rates.
About 2 months ago I finally picked up a set of Ground control springs (380f/250r) and kept the shocks the same. The GR2s are now blown (I ride slammed and these are only a stock replacement), and the AGXs are like new still. The adjustability is great, soft - teeth chattering stiff. I love the AGXs, but everyone swears by koni and illuminas as well.

And for your springs, do you want adjustability? or just one height?
The most common set up that everyone loves is the Ground Control coilover springs with Koni Yellow shocks.

Depending on the set up your looking for, there are plenty perfect shock too spring combo.

Have you pulled them off and checked them? I ran mine with Eibach springs for a few months and they were dead. It wansn't just one, but all, with catastrophic failures. Even when I first put them on and went to my first autocross, I barely felt a difference between full soft and hard. Hell, even my revalved Konis can't go from super comfortable to bone jarring in any way; that's a component of springrate. What a good adjustable shock will do is allow you to adjust how the shock handles the spring action. From my experience, the AGX wasn't even close to handling the task...
