My CTR headlight restoration
Well, to say the least, my CTR headlights were in dire condition. Weather stripping was hanging off, lenses were faded, lots of scratches, and the passenger side lens somehow was full of cracks. I thought about selling them for cheap and buying a new set, but I decided it would be better (and cheaper) to keep these and bring them back to life.
The lights were beyond the help of any rubbing compounds, wet-sanding, polishing, or anything of that nature. Here you can see the cracks in the passenger lens:
Seemed like the only thing to do was source a clean set of US lights. Took a while, but I finally found a decent set - thanks KRInspire
Comparison of the US light and my dead CTR:
Following the first half of SPORT INJECTION's DIY guide, I baked the headlights and swapped the lenses.
One down, one to go:
And both headlights completed, can't wait to install them:
All in all, not a bad way to spend the afternoon. My fingers hurt, but it was worth it.
And yes, I'm bored enough to make a thread about this
