I know it's kind of early but if you're really into MotoGP and you did your research, you can probably make an educated guess.
I want to say the race is gonna be between Casey, Rossi, Pedrosa, and Lorenzo. Lorenzo has major, major talent. I wanted to vote for him but unfortunately for him, Rossi is on Bridgestones this year and not him. Unless Michelin steps up big time, I think Rossi and Casey will be the ones to beat.
As for Nicky, he doesn't seem to like the size of his bike and never felt comfortable on it, probably because Honda developed it for the midget, and he's still running on Michelins.
And Edwards, Hopkins, and Capirossi are all on new rides so it's probably going to be another year of development. Although Colin tried out a new tire and was kicking *** out at practice. And Capirossi is going to be on a fast Suzuki with good tires so him and his mate should run very quick.
Marco Melandri and Toni Elias are always very very good so can't leave them out.
As of right now, this is the roster for '08
Team KR is TBA.
Also, read thru this, has a lot of good info. http://www.cyclenews.com/testride/latestissue.html

The texas windbag was fast in testing last year, as well. Part of colin's problem is equipment - he is often testing new parts that may or may not make it on to Rossi's bike as they have been behind the competition. Given equal equipment he can be fast (Laguna '05, Estoril '06, Donington '07) and of course having Jesus as your teammate doesnt help. I dont see this changing in '08, but he's golden to Yamaha.
This is going to be an interesting year. I would not bet against Rossi like I did last year (and made a few bucks!). I wouldnt bet against stoner, capirossi, or hayden either - all of them will be putting the work in to get their bikes in top form and I think they've all got a shot at the #1 plate. I did leave out pedrobot and lorenzo in that mix... I think they will be sporadically fast but not really factors. Pedrobot is starting to unravel, and Lorenzo will need a year or two to come up to speed. The random number generator (Melandri) may be a factor if he can come to terms with the Duc but I dont see him fighting for the title.
Hopefully we will see a 4 or 5 way battle for the title
The '08 rookie of the year title will be a fight too

I voted Rossi, however I am extremely curios to see how Melandri does on a works bike. I expect Honda to come back full force this season as well. Sooo lets say points-wise:
1) Rossi
*) Stoner
*) Pedrosa
4) Melandri
5) Hayden
1) Rossi
*) Stoner
*) Pedrosa
4) Melandri
5) Hayden
I'm actually most curious to see how Jorge Lorenzo is going to do. But up for the title, probably it's gonna be Rossi, Stoner, and Asimo.

He said Michelin sucked and dropped the ball. And he wanted Bridgestones or else. Who's gonna argue against VR. So basically his paddock which would've been shared with his new teammate Jorge, is not divided into two and they're not gonna share info or some ****.

i vote for NICKY
. i think he is gonna do great this year, you guys should go watch his interviews after sepang testing. he was pretty happy with the bike even though he did mention its still pretty small
. he hated the Bridgestones last year, so hopefully hell be happy with michelin this year. i know its too early in testing but he was the second fastest after the midget. but considering he always races alor better than he qualifies ill put my money on him

Michelin dropped the ball - they fell behind in performance and didnt bring more resources for their Moto GP effort until after mid season. There's been some shakeups at the upper level of the company so that may be part of the cause.
I think they will be back up front next year

#1 repsol honda is back. i put my money on the robot for now, but i'd love to see nicky make pedro his bitch.
#2 rossi does not win, again. he and yammers get in each other's face, rossi retires after 08 or 09 to drive rally cars and play with la figa.
#3 stoner stays near the top, but melandri is close behind--at least some of the time.
#4 hopkins gets more ***** and energy drinks for life. in other news, he finishes 5th or 6th in overall points. with a few quality podiums which are a step up for team green.
#5 tony elias runs out of talent mid-pass, angers rossi.
#6 CEii finds a really heartbreaking way to lose a podium/win in one race, qualifies 6th and finishes 16th in all others.
#7 Michelin destroys bridgestone in the tire war--not b/c i think theyre a better company, but b/c rossi made such a big stink...murphy's law vale--be careful what you wish for.

1. rossi
2. mlandri
3. pedrosa
4. stoner
5. lorenzo
6. hayden
7. hopkins
Championship will be either rossi or pedrosa depending on the tires. My predictions are based on equal tires.

i don't know, i just think toseland will do good this coming season. he's has been riding bigger bikes where as lorenzo is coming up from the 250s. i know that's not saying much, but ehh...

Very true, but I think the knock against WSBK riders is they don't know how to carry high corner speeds. Coming from 250's, it's nothing but high corner speeds. And that's how the 800s are supposed to be ridden (except for Elias).
Vermie is my dark horse to steal a few more wins this year, especially with a few wet races (Shanghai? Donington?). But the title winner will be Pedrosa. It's time for Honda's machine and their other machine to take the top step. Nothing short (get it?) of #1 will do for Intergalactic Mr Robotic.

good point! i didn't really give that any thought, i guess we'll just have to wait and see how the season goes!.

Nicky was on michelin last year. Did you get it backwards and mean he will be happy with bridgestones this year? I didn't think he switched from michelin ??

He was 4th in the championship last year... and that's as good as it's going to get for him I think. He was on better equipment than Pedrosa and Rossi and still didn't get the job done. Kawi is a lateral move at best and he will not finish in the top 5 this year. Taking bets on that!

2 and 3 could be switched. It also depends if the manufactures to have there **** right before the season starts and not 5 or 6 races into the season.

I want Edwards to win at least once in his lifetime for motogp, but I think Rossi will prevail.
As long as the tires hold up as well as they have for stone, I can't see him losing
tough luck though blowing a motor in the last race, that really sucked that he slipped back to third in standing
