i am goin to buy a flowmaster 40 series for my 96's civic
how do you find the right one for my civic(like the size of inlet and outlet?)

welp you need to find the inlet and outlet size of your stock exhaust muffler. then you need to get all of the dimnesions to make sure that it is gonna fit.
here is a link to walker exhaust, they make stock replacement mufflers you will be able to get all of the dimensions you need off of here.

Thats like asking what toppings you want on your hamburger...There are a lot of good brands out there. HKS, GReddy, Apexi, Magnaflow are probably the most notable, but there are tons of brands.

like he said. im sure what you like and what i like don't sound the same. soooo..... just any reputable company, or your own custom mandrel bent. i would just stay away from crush bent, and aluminized piping.
and what muffler to go with ehh once again what you like and what i like are probably not the same so
