Default 90-93 teg and questions

I have a chance to get a bunch of stuff from a 2nd gen teg and wanted to know what if anything I should get from it. Everything is intact. What genreation ECU's are what OBD versions? I can get the motor and tranny for about $400. Worth it? Just wanted some other personal opinions on it. Thanks. And does anyone have any websites that would have all the technical info on all this stuff?

I have no idea. I found it in a junkyard and the whole motor and everything is intact but the front radiator support and everything is pushed up so far its blocking the motor code. Thats what I was trying to figure out myself. The doors wont open either. I keep finding contradicting info on the car too. I have books that say that the only motors that came in those tegs was the B17A and the B18A1. But then this website claims that some came with the B18B1. Which is the motor I'm looking for.

very few had the B17. Those were the GSR. The easiest way to tell if the car has lots of body damage is to look at the tach. If the redline is right around 7K then thats a b18a1. If redline is around 8 then thats a b17. The b17 being the more powerful engine. But, probably in all likelyness a b18a. Also, if the rear is intact look for possible badging. ONly the GSR indicated model will have the b17 unless it has undergone a motor swap, which is unlikely.

hope this helps any.

Yeah that helps a lot. Thanks guys. So what you're telling me though is that the 2nd gen teg ONLY came with the B18A1 or the B17A. The B18B1 only came in the 94 and up tegs right. So that Hybrid garage info page is incorrect right?

Oh and anyway to tell if its the GSR by the valve cover? IS the GSR different than the LS valve cover? I guess I could also look for the V-tec solenoid too huh?

you'll see the familiar DOHC VTEC on the valve cover if it's a GSR

basically. But, keep inmind, for the price you are being quoted its probably an LS, RS, GS. What is this motor being used for if you dont mind me asking. Its alittle different from the b18b. But for the price if you are looking to just do a replacement for what you have sounds fine to me.

Actually I was just going to pick it up and sell it. But if it was a B18B1 I was going to use it. The place that I'm buying it at usually only deals with domestic stuff but a friend happened to see it there. The whole motor with intake manifiold, longblock, all accessories and motor mounts connected is $220. The tranny is $110 so thats why I was thinking of snagging it. The rear disk conversion is a little expensive at about $200 so thats why I dont really think I should grab that though.

yeah, i would pass on rhe rears. Chances are you will need new discs, and pads, maybe rotors. dont forget lines as well. Well, maybe the control arms might be useful, not sure. IF your an oportunistic snag it and sell it. Seems like a deal to me, just dont expect to double your profit turn. The engine, as i mentioned isn't that desireable of an engine, but worth it to someone running (if they are still out there) a 1st gen teg, or just looking for a low cost b series to start from bottom up. Good luck.

One more question for you. What different motor or year versions comes with what OBD version? If the ECU is an OBD1 I will pick it up though. I think they only want like $20 for it. Is there a chart or anything that I can go off of?

90-91 Integras are non-OBD (OBD-0)
92-93 Integras are OBD-1.

Do you know what the ECU code is for the OBD1 version? And will it plug right into a 92 cx hatch harness?
