D16y8 distributor difference between years?????
hi guys and gals,
This is the first SOHC motor I have. I've always had Bseries. Anyways I'm working on a 99EX and I need a new distributor. Is there a difference between the 96-98 distributor and the 99-00 Distributor?? In some listings, I see people saying it'll work for either years. In others I see them listed for certain years, Either 96-98 or 99-00.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I need one for a 99EX. Incase somebody has one laying around.

Looks like it's all the same for the '96-'00 CX, '96-'00 DX, '96-'00 EX, '98-'00 GX, '96-'00 LX, and '99-'00 Si... EXCEPT for the rotor, which can only be the '99-'00 CX, '99-'00 DX, '99-'00 EX or '99-'00 LX (which are all the same.
If this is all true (which I got the info from the Honda EPC), then you could get any and replace the rotor and it'd be perfect.
Perhaps someone would be willing to confirm this.

I know this thread is 4 years old, however '96 - '98 and '99 - '00 D-series distributors are different (except HX) '96 - '98 have a single large plug, '99 - '00 have a single small plug, HX all have a single large plug.
