I wouldn't recommend it, it's not particularly safe nor does it enhance the look of the car IMO.

And in some states, it's illegal.

If you want an upgraded look, I'd recommend going for 2004-2005 tail lights.

i have the 2004 2005 tail lights on my civic, which i think they look way better than blacking them out..... plus like they said it's illegal and BELIEVE me they will get u pulled over like paris hilton driving the opposite direction on the fwy....... i had them so listen to the experienced grasshoppa...... but whatever floats ur boat

If that's still your choice then thats cool too.... i used a spray specially for lenses, but that was the biggest mistake ever it went from shiny to flat black and uneven, i would suggest to get a light smoked film, that looks nice!!!!

The best way to do it is to get a black clear mix sprayed professionally. Thats what I did. I was gonna get nightshades, but every time i see them in person they look dull.

heres mine.

i kinda like that dark look because a light tint wouldnt look that good on my black civic...and I tried the tint/film and it looked horrible and left a ugly *** residue on my passenger headlight that wont come off..

Just get 04-05 tail lights and leave them alone.
