I want to weld a couple -12 fittings into my OBD1 LS valve cover. I have a few questions,

1. Is there a certain position for them?
2. How do I assure I have the metal shavings cleaned out from welding?
3. Does anyone have any pictures of an LS vc with the fittings in or possibly a how to?
