Looking to attempt my first retrofit
So I just picked up a 97 civic hatch. Unfortunately the S2000 has spoiled me as far as lighting goes, and the hatch falls WAY short in that department. As I'll be daily driving it, and a go portion of my home commute is in the dark, something needs to be done.
I'm a little hesitant to cut open my OEM lights though. Not the oven portion, that doesn't bother me at all as I've opened several dozen prelude tail lights to pull the amber out. It's actually CUTTING them that worries me.
Would it be ricey to pick up a set of ebay headlights and giving it a try on them? Figured I could grab a set of TYC headlights, as they're already made with projectors, pull the projectors out, and place my own (hopefully an S2000 setup) inside.
Thoughts?

it will be a lot easier with a tyc style light, since they already have a projector in them. That is what I did for my civic. Here is a link with some build and final pics.

its hard to find a nice looking set of after market headlights that use projectors..
alot of them look very flashy.. and i guess is what makes them "rice"
but there are advantages to it..
1 its easier to retro, and 2 you get to keep a halogen highbeam.
gl finding one that you like.

Welcome chawski, good to have you....
Chawski did on an aftermarket headlight, I got a spare headlights and worked on them....It is harder on OEM solely because of the mounting and finding a right shroud...
