The real one is the coated steel one that comes on Civic CX's and VX's that don't come with a rear wiper.

i gather the metal 1 is 3 pieces in total (metal plug, bolt and washer) and bolt basically screws in from behind ?

Yeah, but the washer needs to be a fender washer and the bolt is a M6x1.00x16mm flange bolt.

I think I just used #7 or #9 for the fender washer, and the bolt I had laying around. You could probably use #13 (20mm length), but it may be too long.
