My coworker has a current setup of Comptech drop in filter with icebox, Comptech 4-2-1 header, and Greddy catback on his GSR. He's looking to add a skunkIM, chipped ECU, and a set of cam gears. With that setup, what cams would work best? ITs between CTR, S2S1, and BC3+. Of course valvtrain will be upgraded too and tuning with Crome will be done. The BC3+ makes the midrange he seeks but will the header with the 2" collector be too restrictive. The common answer will be YES, but he's not gonna change his current setup. Which cam would you choose? Emphasis is building midrange for a daily driver.

Those cams are all very similar on power output...the real difference in getting power out of any of them is tuning. The header should be fine for that setup as well. Many people dont believe in the 2.0" collector, but its capable of more power then most people realize.

 

So lets say he uses the BC3+ cams, even with the collector being 2", would they make more power midrange than the other 2?

 

The BC3+ should make the most mid range out of all of those cams.
