***VIOLENT JERKS IN STEERING***
I have a 1991 Acura Integra RS.
Recently the steering starts jerking violently to the left when I drive but it stops if i get of the gas or somewhat if i give more gas. When I shift into neutral and just coast its gone. There is a vibration and loud tack-tack-tack noise when i turn a corner especially to the right.
I need help urgently because the car is almost uncontrollable at the time. Feeling in steering wheel is similar to driving with a very bad flat tire.
I had it checked and its not the alignment, not the tires, not the power-steering pump, not the PS fluid level. The only thing thats possible is that my CV joints are both open because the rubber cover has torn and are pretty dry. But the strange thing is that the vibration stops when I coast so that would indicate nothing really wrong with the axle assembly.
If anybody has any idea of what it might be please let me know!!!!!!!

Cv joints will definitely do that, especially if they are making a clicking when you turn. This means that they are well past the point of needing replacement, and should be replaced asap. I had a Saab 9000 back in the day that would literally pull me off the road beause of bad cv joints. Good luck!
No. Mine did the exact same thing...It would go for miles perfectly down the road, and then all of a sudden the car would jerk off the road violently. It was very weird to say the least, but it was the CV's. I am guessing the bearings get so bad that they "catch" pullling yopu one way or the other. Good luck!
