static in speakers with satellite radio
alright so i recently picked up a satellite radio, and now i got it going directly into the deck through the aux port on my cd player. im getting static or a whine that matches up with my rpms, the higher the rpms the high pitched the whine. is there anything i can get to absorb or deflect the electrical interference?? i get no static with the car off and im getting power from the cigarette lighter.
is it a whining noise or just static? static is bad reception most likely and if it runs off GPS then you are likely to have bad reception in parking garages, in a business district with tall buildings stuff like that. if it is a whining then check for bad ignition wires they are a good cause of this, what kind of vehicle is this?
its in a dc4, only happens when i use the sat radio, but i think an fm modulator will clear it up, just want to make sure before i buy one.
You most likely have a gound loop between your CD player and satellite radio receiver. Either the CD player or the satellite receiver has a poor ground.
cd players never given me any problems before, and the radio is grounded from the cigarette lighter, i heard that since the aux port and cig lighters are so close to each other that they could be causing it, and that i should use an fm modulator.
