Default Which turbo kit for Daily Driver?

Hi guys. Im just doin some research. Im about to buy a new car and I was thinking about an RSX-S. I would deffinitly have to turbo it to get the power I would need to be satisfied with it. So as you can see from the title... it would be my daily driver. I would need at least a mid 13 out of it. So anyway, my question is: What turbo kit/set-up should I go with and how much will it cost me including installation and tune? Thanks in advance for any help!

An STi is actually a car im considering but I dont like Chargers. Is there a specific Full Race kit? And what all does it include, how much power? What all other, if any, mods would I have to do to support the kit?

I think STI has like 300 stock. You dont need anything to support that turbo. STI and EVO stock turbos that come from the manufacture. Its ready to go and not alot of up keep! But I like the Evos better! Not a huge STI fan. Its up to you. Eiether way this is an ep3 or dc5 forum.

I was actuall just commenting on what the guy said about getting an STi or Charger. I was asking what comes with the Full Race kit for the RSX-S and what mods, if any, would I need to support that turbo? I wouldnt bring up questions about a Subaru in a Honda/Acura forum.

If that can be achieved with stock internals I would go that route. I dont wanna go into the motor AT ALL! If mid 13s are fairly easy then I would probably end up go for a high 12 or low 13. But I just need some specifics.... Which Greddy kit? How much is it? How much power does it make? What will it make me run?...... ect......

Im pretty much a noob with RSX`s. So any help would be great! Thanks Guys!!!

You'd find all those answers by using the search function.

Well said my friend!

Many times we look for the best but it does not exist. There are only preferences and everyones is different. Do the research on what numbers guys are putting down and what they are running at the track. You should factor in many variables lke tires suspension etc etc... just the power will not make the runs you are looking for! You have to also get it to the ground as with any other vehicle! Good luck with your decision.

Wow! You typed a whole paragraph about how I should use the search function before i was ever asked if I have used it. I never ask before searching. When I dont find the answer I am looking for, I ask. The answer might have been in all the posts about turbo`d RSX`s but i didnt wanna go through all of that bickering back and forth for God knows how many pages!

Just lookin for a little advice! Thanks

x 2

if u wanna do it with your type-s..

go NA..

type-s is already high compression, wont get much gains without building motor and if u slap a turbo on there turn up the boost without a build your motor will blow..

just go na..cheaper and stable

EG H2B is an eg hatch with an the H motor (prelude motor) with the B series transmission. Very efficient.

Ahh... I like hatches but I want a newer, nicer car. I love the interior of the RSX. A friend of mine has an EK hatch with a B18C and it moves pretty good and still gets great gas mileage.

But anyway.... I wanna stick with the RSX.

Get a base RSX with a lower compression engine and turbo that.

Would it be a big difference? The S and the base model?

It has lower compression, which is what you want in a turbo car.

What is the compression ratio difference? And can I get more power out of a base with turbo setup with stock internals than an S with the same setup

Thats a very general statement...

But I agree if youre boosting than grab a base model. A type S with the same setup will make more power however.

If you are looking for a reliable daily driver kit to hit 13's I would go with the Greddy kit. I have already hit 13's with my Greddy kit running 7 psi and stock clutch, exhaust, and cat. People upgrade the intake manifold to a RBC, 3" downpipe and exhaust, Turn boost to around 10 psi, good clutch, good Kpro tune and run low 13's to high 12's with slicks.

To be perfectly honest the compression of the RSX is higher then average for a Honda but that doesn't mean your going to blow up. People are putting down up to 600 whp on stock internals and that by no means is low boost, its 15-25 psi. Its all about the tune.

Nice, thank you very much. All I would want to run is about 10-12 psi. I would deffinitly go full(turbo back) exhaust. I would wanna run slicks though. I dont wanna go through all of the drivetrain upgrades.(with the exeption of a clutch) Honestly... I dont care how much boost im runnin or how much power I have as long as I can get a mid-low 13. And if 12s are possible SAFELY on stock internals... I would go for it.

If you're looking for 13s just supercharge it. Easier install and less maintenance. Mid 13s can be had with street tires, good suspension, Cold air, decent header, exhaust, and tune.
