jdm B16a Tranny
Yo i have a leek in my tranny and they say it is the mast cylinder and i was wondering how hard it would be to change it would it be better to just take it to some one to have it done or is it worth trying my self
Well, it depends on how mechanically inclined you are. If you have little experience with cars or brake systems (similar to a hydro clutch), then have somebody else do it.
Of course this is assuming you have a hydro trans. Even so, the master cylinder is on the firewall and wouldn't cause a leak inside the trans, maybe they mean the slave cylinder on the front of it?
If it's a cable trans, then whoever told you that has no idea what they're talking about and it's more than likely an axle or mainshaft seal.

I talked to the guy after reading your post and i guess i heard him wrong it is the mainshaft seal i put the engine in my self and have done alot of work to it like adjusted the valves and put new cams in it and so on but i have never mest with the tranny and just want to know if it is worth saving the money and doing it my self or just to have somebody to do it i bought the seals to day be cause this other guy i know owns his own shop but wants to charge me a grip and is kind of a punk and wont even try tellin me how hard it would be to do just the price for him to do it so i would rather do it my self just so you know i can get it done but ill take it some where if it is way hard
If you can drop the transmission and have access to a bearing puller and seal driver, it's really not that bad.
Here's a link for tearing down your trans.: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=596873
And one by me

(D-Series L3 trans, but more or less the same)
The mainshaft seal is under the ISB (input shaft bearing).
