Default heater Core and others..

Well I was taking out my AC and a couple of lines leaded in to the dash so I removed it and took out the black box under the glove box. But cant seem to remove the heater core...(the big Black Box in the center under the dash) cause it seems that there are lines running to the engine block. I want to know if its ok to disconnect the lines from the block and the whole heater unit? Cause in the helms manual its under the Cooling and AC section. Oh and I got a 93 Civic DX.

if you take off the lines going to the heater core, coolant will leak all over the damn place. you shouldn't take that out anyway. you need to take out the A/C Condencer, not the heater core

You can remove the heater core if you like but you must bypass the heater core. Just connect those two hoses together. you will no longer have heat however.

There is a bolt on the engine bay, right next to the heater hoses. take it off along with the 3 or 4 on the inside. I used hose caps to block off the ports.

Well the reason why i want to do it is cause I was watching a show called Trick It Out with my boy Andrew Totolos and he took off over 312 lbs from a Civic hatch back and I was like WOW!! And the way he removed everything was like real fast and simple. Well cause its TV right. lol ANd the heater box and AC assembly was like a total for 32.50 lbs. And If I can take out 32.50 lbs for unnesscary stuff....Well hell "just do it". lol I just quoted NIKE. Well i will be getting hose caps then. oh and the 312 pounds came from windows replaced by clean lexon and full removel of interior. All was gone except for a carbon seat and stearing wheel and huge shift light.
