Tarmac Rally for Road Racers in SoCal!
From CalClub.com (http://www.calclub.com/discus/messag...tml?1025112970)
----------------------------------------------
For years Cal Club has sanctioned the Treeline Rally, headquartered in the Monrovia area.
This year, the Treeline Rally will run on tarmac roads on Friday night, hence the name "Tarline." Think of this event as the Monrovia Hillclimb.
Road racers are welcome to participate! Cars must have headlights, brakelights, and legal roadracing cages (rally cages are certainly welcome!)
Plans are to set up this rally so that you can trailer the car to the stages, thus eliminating the usual rally car rules about license plates, etc. However, the supp regs have not been finalized. Additionally, codrivers ("navigators") will be optional for this event.
If you wish to enter Tarline only, the entry fee will be about a hundred bucks and should give you about 40 minutes of seat time. (We're hoping for three or four runs up the seven mile stage.)
The date? Tarline is the night of Sept 13th. If your car meets rally specs you can race the Treeline Rally the next afternoon.
Details are still being worked out, but we wanted to let you know early that we working to make it easy for road racers to come play with your rally brethren for a weekend.
Keep an eye on www.CaliforniaRallySeries.com for more information. If you'd like to contact me directly, send e-mail to SoPacRallySteward@despammed.com
Rally on!
