See what happens when our Sport gets promoted
Check out the stands from this past weekend event PanAms event in Lakeland Florida.
This was just an 1/8 of mile race. The stands were packed.
Who said import racing is dead. This event was promoted on spanish radio, spanish tv and spanish newspaper. You see what happens when our sport gets promoted

Man import racing is soooo different compared to Va/MD when in NJ/NY! Its all puerto rican and hispanic heads! I remember when i went to run at atco a while back i was shocked how it was all hispanic heads! Around me its all black dudes and Rednecks!
I thought i was going to need to get my passport stamped before i got in!

See you do not have to have a 1/4 mile race to bring in the people. They just want to see close racing and sideways rotarys! Looks like theres more people in just those stands then most west coast races

I'm down. No one ever contacts us on these events. I need to know a few months ahead of time and i'm good. Brent Rau did one last year and he said it was great.

Not bashing. But I just watched thespeedlounge.com's video from Pomona and I would say the 1/8 mile race had more people in the seats. I did not say ALL west coast races I said most. But lets keep this on topic here and not hi-jack it to much
Hey guys this event was off the hook!!!
There were over 4,000 people packed into this little track!!! There these little stands behind the burn out box and on the corner and they were packed!!!
But I will tell you something, the track was prepped good and hooked like a mother!!! The track staff was very attentive and responsive. But most importantly, the crowd was off the chain!!! It didnt make a difference if it was slow or fast, they were on their feet cheering!!!
I always wondered why these events did so well. I thought maybe promotion, maybe demographics. I think those do play a role. But I think the most important thing is family!!! This is the first time I really paid attention and I noticed that racing is a family affair!!! I saw kids helping their dads and wifes cooking food and then helping everyone in the family push their car to the starting line.
No one cared who was running a bigger turbo, no one was complaining about anything. Everyone just wanted to race!!!
It would be cool to have some more teams show up and have some stress free racing fun!!!

Luis is still down in FLorida so be patient for the response on IM/e-mail. He decided to just stay down there for PRI.
NOw on the event...... THE EVENT IS AWESOME. There was even people from ARUBA that showed up just to watch. The racing was awesome and the Staging duel between US(Paradise Racing) and BORIS/Delurium was off the hook. It had the crowd on there feet for the whole minute plus we was in the duel.
I really dont know how to word this. BUt it just seems like Puerto Ricans are just more die hard than other nationalities when it comes to sport compact racing.
Its like "Red Necks" with NASCAR or like Blacks with Foot Ball or Basketball.
These people will travel to the end of the earth to see a good *** import race.
Right Now what sport compact needs is match races to hype up the crowd along with big money betting going along with it. That seems like that swhat keeps the crowd motivated.
Seems to me that import racing is getting too commercialized and not kept underground like 10.5 outlaw or pro street for the domestics,
Anyway.....if anyone can't get in touch with LUIS for the next event. You are more than welcome to contact me. I will give you as much info or heads up as possiple.
Right now our next event will be the SNOW BIRD NATS. See ya there

Hey BRO!!!
Sounds like you are living in a perfect world.!!!!!
It was cool to see all the family members help wuth the car. whether is was a $100K pro car or a $1500 bak yard run what ya brung back half car. The whole family was involved from start to finish and no one cared who they lined up against. When it was all said and done.....EVERYONE was just ONE BIG FAMILY.
THE WAY IT SHOULD BE!!!!!
