need help with security for 2000 honda civic si
i own currently own a 2000 honda civic SI
my car got broken into a couple months back, now i need some help with security precautions i can take.
i had an autolock, and a kill switch before it got broken into, and a stock factory "alarm/keyless remote entry" they broke in, fucked up the weatherstrip, and luckily only took the SI cluster, radio and they gutted my trunk (idk why). so now iono what to do. like what alarm should i get? back up battery for that alarm? another kill switch? detachable steering wheel? reroute hood latch cable? vent visor for the driver side? i really dont want my baby to get broken into again, and stolen. i need help. help out a fellow SI owner please.
plans already:
-bought replacement cluster
-climate control bought already
-installed new cd deck
-i plan on buying the DEI 520t battery backup
help help help on what else i can do!!!

If it's the stock alarm then definitely do the hood cable re-route, however if you've got the time you should do a stealth alarm. Also, if you have a kill switch or anything like that, wire it so it's activated when you set the alarm as someone may watch you for a while and always see you reaching for something before locking the car, then they may figure it as your switch location. Also, any other types of immobilizers are worth it.
Lastly, I don't know how realistic or effective this would really be (haven't researched it much), but one thing I'd like to do with my car (again, if possible) is to install a hidden GPS transmitter for when the car is stolen and carry a device with you that can display it's location.

You answered your own question. As far as security ever will go, one layer is never the "best" or never "enough". The more the merrier. Install as much as that as you can, those will all help safe guard your car; there is not a magic anti-theft product that will work, but together, they can give you a higher chance of keeping your car/items.

Criminals never carry guns, right?
Seriously, the likelihood of them having a gun will often match or exceed the likelihood that you have a gun. I'd much rather carry a bat so if I catch someone in the act I can lose all self-control and beat them into a puddle of their own blood, and then drop the bat and fall to my knees whilst crying out all of my mixed emotions...Like in the movies!

lol. i looked up the guy who owns an Si with a K20 swap and he had a ravelco security system.
they claim that they have never had a car stolen, and its on the Los Angeles ABC news.
im thinking about saving up and getting one, along with the security **** i already got.
i'll probably keep the keyless remote and use the kill switch and autolock. should i go with the ravelco????
