Right side speakers not working.
Hey guys, I have a problem and that is, as the title says the passenger side front and rear speakers not working. Both of the front and rear driver side speakers do work. I am right in the middle of finals so I can't take it to the dealership till Tuesday, but I was wondering if you guys had any advice on things I could do myself to see if its something simple. I don't exactly know how long they have been out, as a friend who was driving with me pointed it out Saturday
. I don't listen to music overly loud, and I am running the stock system with the exception of the head unit. I replaced the OEM one with a Sony one installed by Best Buy because I needed a CD player and the OEM only had a tape player
.
Because I don't know how long the speakers have been out I am starting to question whether or not Best Buy may have just forgotten to hook up a wire or too (No big deal), but if it turns out that I need new speakers, (I have seen the DIY articles for installing new speakers or replacing OEM ones) can someone point me towards some quality speakers or let me know of a place I can get OEM ones?
Thank you

yeah check your connections before buying... but it's such a hassle to take off the panels that maybe you should just upgrade anyway...
i'd say look around crutchfield... and see if the local car audio shops can beat the prices.

This may seem stupid But, I would check your fade and balance controls. It seems unlikely that best buy would miss a set of speakers during there installation. I would be pretty sure that they would check all speakers and connections on the final install. But you never know lol. If not then maybe someone blew them up..
As for aftermarket speakers. It all depends on how much you would wanna spend, Since you have just a aftermarket head unit and no amp powering the 4 speakers (Well 2 in your case lol). I would just get an average set of speakers in the front and rear. I wouldn't go crazy with components or anything high-end because 1. You wont really notice a big difference without an amp on them. 2. Will need at least 50-100 Watts RMS to make them sound like they should. Hope that helps you out some lol. IMO if the Oem speakers are blown. I would replace them with an aftermarket set. Just to save the hassle in the long run

Does your car have aftermarket tweeters and crossovers? If so, I would check the connections on the crossover. Same thing happened to me, and a wire came loose during my headunit installation.
