charcoal canister?
i have a 99 gsr, my charcoal canister has a hole in it b/c it rubbed against my axle. Should i replace it or will it hurt to run my car without it? please let me know asap. thanks
well it seems to run fine, no more coolant leaks or any thing, it does smell like raw *** though when i start it in the garage and its freezing and it idles low as hell until it warms up. here's a pic of the bay

how does taking canister out affect your gas mileage??thanks and if it does how much does it affect ur gas milage, cuz if its a lot, its going back in

It is directly linked to your fuel system. That's why I was saying it makes sense.
Not sure if it does hurt your mileage or not, but it makes sense.
A buddy has ran his boosted LS for 1,000+ miles with out a canister, so I don't see it causing any problems.

i havnt noticed it really, but then again i dont drive this car everyday anymore, its winter and cold in ohio so it sits in the garage unless i dont feel like driving the supra

ok the only problem i ran into with swapping my manifold and deleted the evap canister was this. one of these lines somehow was ran to my canister and made it fill up with coolant and rubb on my axle and now there's a hole in it. the green circled runs to my block the purple circled ran to my canister, but now it just capped off, where is this supposed to go please help

I would put the canister back on (another one without a hole of course), but figure out why it's rubbing against the axle. Did you not have it properly secured in the bracket on the frame rail?

well just hope you dont have to get e-checked. lol you need to have that put on. it stores vapor from the tank and uses them when your at crusing speeds. your mileage will be a lot better.
