??? can you fit a sr20det fwd motor in a 2001 itr
i was wondering if you can get a sr20det fwd motor to fit into a 2001itr ? do you know if anyone has ever done it ?? is it possible?? do you think they could make custom motor mounts to fit it in ??? please let me know
with the right amount of money it is, but y would u ever want to put a nissan motor in a honda? That, and it isn't all that great of a motor, making only 205hp, in FF form, it would be easier to build the b18c5 in the ITR for boost then boost that and have a much better motor.

read my reply again dumb ***, i said a b18c5 built for boost, meaning lower compression, strong rods, possibley even sleeving, learn how to read before u talk **** punk.

I know the SR20DET can handle more than 400 HP and 18 psi on stock internals. But I wouldn't be inclined to put it in a Honda.

For the money he'd spend on have a built ITR motor he can spend half that and still kill the B18C5 in the HP/TQ dept.
Sorry dude when it comes to boost the SR20 motor is head and shoulders above a honda motor.

i too say the same.. the sr20De-T is one of the nicest stock-like motors out there... its has an awesome B. End and is already set up with turbo cams and a turbo that can be upgraded with no problem.
i know several ppl running 150 shots on stock b. ends and there are ppl pushing 450+ on those stock internals... and the price makes it better.. i can get them around 1700-1900 shipped..

Explain how building a turbo engine (SR20DET) is a bad idea cost wise?
I don't understand.
And for the record I don't think it would be cost effective to put a SR20 motor in a honda. Its been done, but a lot of us don't have fabrication resources. If I though smartly I would have bought a 240 and did a silvia swap (Less common then a b-series swap for right now and more power gains per dollar spent).
In the end I'm glad I put a ITR motor in my civic because when I do decide to go with a turbo vehicle I can use my civic as a reliable daily driver.

No different then a Prelude swap into a civic cost wise.
I agree this topic is getting way off course.

b Series motor built right can make 750hp to the wheels
let this post DIE.
im requesting a lock
drag. lock it.
SO what, how much with stock internals? Put $3,000 into both motors and see what you get, the SR20DET will make twice the power of the Honda motor, and be totaly streetable but I STILL wouldn't put it in a honda, but that 240sx will be a killer ride. THis thread should die, too many fools without a clue making comments about things they know nothing about.

are we arguing this AGAIN?!
the sr20 is SUPPOSED TO GO FAST
the b series motors ARE NOT MEANT FOR 500HP
jesus just let it drop!

could someone please lock this thread? If your all about nissan motors, then go to www.sr20de.net
this thread is stupid. own a 96 Ek its stock (motor wise) for now but i have a GSR motor in my garage waiting to be installed. i used to own a 89 240sx with a Sr20DET motor. ive driven many GSR's and preludes. the Sr motor is way faster in any form
the Sr has over 200 ft pounds of torque which is what you need on the street. the Type R doens teven have 150 ft pounds of torque. my 240sx was stock except for intake exhaust and a front mount on stock boost of .6 bar. i was taking on brnad new LS1 SS's with my 240sx which no integra type R will do with those mods. i could have got a boost controller and taken on vettes.
just remember the SR was made for boost the R motor was made to be reved the **** out of to make decent power which means eveything is light weight and easily broken. trust me drive a SR powered car and the R motor will seem very weak when ya get back in your car. i know i have a honda now but thats only cuz the parts are way easier to get. if i could id get another Sr powered 240sx. just to let ya know the SR motor is a great motor so is the ITR motor but SR is made to make more power.
just look almost all Nissan motors have extremely strong bottom ends compared to hondas

Dumbass, the SR20DET has an ALUMINUM block, the KA24DE, CA18DET, and FJ20ET have cast iron blocks
the sr20 is a cast iron block
