Default can a shift light be wired into the ecu?

i know theres a rpm wire on the ecu, can i wire a shift light into that wire, im sure it would give me a more accurate reading am i right?

Yup, it can. Apex'i S-AFC and V-AFC tap into that wire.

I almost did it myself, but got nervous about tapping into ECU wires and used the one on the gauge bezel plug.

im using the one on the cluster right no, but its 100rpms off, i would like to tap into the ecu for a more accurate reading, hopefully.

most people tap into the distributor....but what ever works.

im trying not to have any wires running outta the bay, just makes me feel better knowing everything is contained.

so does anyone know what wire it is? color? pin#?

Check Apex'i website and look for the diring diagrams for the AFC controllers.

Really? Thats pretty strange... because they do have ODB II ecu diagrams

OK i did it! the RPM signal wire on a ODBII ECU is the yellow wire with a green stripe on it and silver markings. you can find this wire on the center(middle) connector of the 3

just the shift light, but either of the 2 can be wired into that rpm signal wire

Don't you have to have the trigger box that tell the light when to turn on at a certain rpm

To each their own...it's been working for me...I have 2 shift lights, I use the Hondata for first gear due to reaction times, and I use my normal shift light for 2nd gear and up...
