So what are you looking to achieve by changing your suspension? What do you expect to get out of Skunk2 coilovers that you aren't getting from the Ground Controls? What, specifically, is wrong with your Ground Controls and causes them to not live up to your expectations? Hint: "they suck *** and i hate them" isn't a valid reason.

well they havent been working 100% right since i got them. I live about 10 min away from ground control and had one of the employees install them, he basically took my money and ran, the top part (sorry dont know the technical name) was completely cracked, and he replaced it but it squeaks super bad. I just dont like them or there business, and i also want new springs and just want to change my set up which is why i was seeing if anybody has had any experiece with these

Your wheel/tire package is too large for starters. Also, squeeking usally comes from your sway bar.

Skunk2 would be a step down from GC.

oh haha that guy.

probably doesn't help that the GC's are installed on stock shocks. I assume they're not on the Tokicos since it looked like we convinced him that they suck, but OEM shocks suck even worse with coilovers, or most any lowering spring for that matter.

ok since it says in your sig that you have an em2, all sleeve type coilovers will make noise in our cars, its a fact.

second junk...i mean skunk 2 suck ***. why? because i have them and the ****** drivers side front spring cracked on me twice! not once but TWICE!!!! so screw them and their sleeved coil-over junk.

Stay with ground controls and get some koni's. But the only thing is installation for our cars is a bitch.

hope this helps.

So are some of you saying Skunk2's are ****??? Because thats what I have, and I like them, but I do know there is possibly a better setup out there... Been hearing a lot about the koni+ground control setup. Maybe I should have went this route??? Ive had these for about 7 months now, and I have went thru my share of problems with them... But nothing too crazy just the fact that the dumb expletive who installed it installed it COMPLETELY WRONG Like bushings upside down, washers in the wrong place, and the damper on one side tightened WAY too much... but I did also have my rear shock mess up due to a shop messing up the shock body... The guy at monterey alignment didnt know ****, He said I didnt even need the bushing mounting collar/sleeve.... Oh man, I can honestly say I've learned a lot from this and all the mistakes.

It seems that you do need to do some in-depth research on suspension theory. You cant just slap it in and expect the best ride of your life, theres things surrounding it that plays a factor. But lets hope you dont learn from mistakes as I'[ve done, or it will lead to stress, and the occasional fist fight lol...

But as for my opinion on the Skunk2 Coilovers, they are great for Daily Driving, due to their soft damper, and spring rates. But it all depends for what youre looking for. If you want drag suspension and like having your kidney up to your throat, go for a stiff setup.

Can anyone describe how the Koni+GC set ups are??? Ive never been in a ride thats set up with them... What type of suspension is it more of?? Drag, Track, DD, or just street??

well the koni ground control setup is set up for what ever type of driving you want to do. it can be for all those styles that you have listed. i persanoly love it for dd and road racing. i have it on my 92 civic hatch back. and im running a 7/430 in the front and 6/525 in the rear. and this kit responds soo good to dd all over town and it does its best when your doing about 90mph on the back roads everyone loves in tahoe. and i love the ride that i have when im driving in san jose.
