it's a good idea to search first, the mods will prob lock this one on ya. it's been a topic that has kinda gotten beaten to death.

I like the spoon header but everyone has their own opinion. Performance wise I would get hytech or smsp.

Comptech has three votes and SMSP and Hytech have one? Am I missing something?

I thought the same and I just voted for hytech and smsp. Comptech is good but when is it better than Hytech?

Probably because not many people have herd of SMSP or Hytech since they focus on performance and results, not marketing. Their marketing strategy is pretty much word of mouth

Hytech is the best header if you can afford it. And it's not just the header you need, the full exhaust system. It dynoed like 20 horsepower and torque on a Type R.

hey, get what you can afford. IF money isnt an option then everyone has already pointed out the winners. However, if you dont own a ITR then this probably wont be as effective and if you dont have the money for this then it probably isn't an option either.

Consider first:
--what you will use the car for
--what your future hopes and dreams are (ie are you going turbo in a year )
--do you drive an LS,RS, GS, ----this will matter when it comes time in picking the proper design
--this this a purpose built machine or a daily driver

All these factors matter. There is no reason to drop major bones for a great SMSP header which works great on a type R if you have an LS which doesnt have the right sized cat to fit up to the header correctly. See, lots to consider.

do alittle searching around, research some, and get a more refined question for us. Glad and willing to help, but its just a broad question.

Good luck

I don't see why people are recommending custom headers for this guy. Save SMSP and Hytech recommendations for the more serious

Cause the topic says best header, and he wants to go NA. The best headers for NA are the custom SMSP and Hytech.

Here goes Hytech's website.

http://www.hytechexhaust.com

I think its the only one with anti reversion. Correct me if I'm wrong.
The ultimate header

he never said he was gonna do a serious all motor build up. he just said hes not goin w/ forced induction. for moderate build ups the dc jdm 4 to 1 is fine. i dont think you need a hytech or smsp system unless you are planning on doing some serious work, ie cams and full valvetrain, increase displacement, etc.

He asked what was the best header, and he said he was going NA. If he wanted the best header for a mild NA setup, he should have specified. Its not worth arguing about, from readin the thread I am sure he can differentiate that Hytech and SMSP are for serious NA setups.

You don't need serious internal upgrades for Hytech or SMSP. I don't know who started that rumor. Its no different than any other 2.5" exhaust system, they just have very good results. The downside is the cost.

Someone should have a copy of the great header test somewhere. The thing is some headers will produce more HP with just bolt ons, some will produce more with mods.
Dc 4-2-1 produces good hp on a GSR with just I/E
JDM 4-1 headers work better with motors that have cams and are tackin out at like 9k.
Depends on the app there gonna be used for.
Me I'm gonna do ITR cams and maybe single stage mani and a few more suspension upgrades and I'm done.Hence comptech 4-2-1 great for me.

Ok, about the Hytech header. It's a new generation header, 4-2-1 with extra long primaries, which creates power at lower and higher RPM.

If you buy this header you have to do custom work to your whole exhaust system. Since the header is so long you have to relocate your cat, which means getting a longer wire for the 02 sensor, and cutting about six inches off your b-pipe.

If the pics dont work go to http://www.geocities.com/mi_deng/headerlength.jpg for the header and

http://www.team-integra.net/forum/di...4&ThreadPage=2
for the dynochart
