so now dmv is asking me to do a smog on my car but i dont have the original motor and tranny i have a 94 ls i just put a new ls motor and tranny from japan ECU is usdm

would i have any problem gettin smog done ?

I doubt it.... you had an ls, and put an LS motor in it. As long as none of the mods are illegal, you should be ok. (mods like headers/intake should have carb numbers)..I just smogged my acura over the weekend and they checked my intakes carb sticker to make sure it matched.

Also, do you have ODB2 or ODB1? ODB1 smog prices went up due to a new evap test.

 

i have no mods all stock someone said i wouldnt pass visual test or something i have the reciept from where i bought it from that sbout it

Yes you will pass visual. There is nothing wrong with swaping a newer LS motor into a LS.

You should be fine.... as long as the motor is in good running condition..

 

when my frind swapped a sohc zc into his ef hatch some dick didnt want to pass visual bcuz the si IM in his helms book didnt match the zc IM. he literally told him to F*ck off and took it to a different shop where it passed with flying colors

 

some shops are really strict and by the book, i don't mind taking my car to shops like that to get work down if i can't do it myself. Some shops could care less what you're trying to smog, I would not take my car to shops like that for work.

How long hav u had ur car...? How many time hav had u smoged it? Cuz I had to smog mine for the past 3yrs... I called the DMV, they said its random... Is that BS?

 

i thought it was every 3 years
