Ive seen LS1's in a hatchback.

You could fit anything in there. it depends on your budget. The 2.4L K24 is swappable as well.

The 2.0 liter B20 is the biggest engine you can EASILY swap into an ED/EF HB.

You can fit a h22 but a b18 would fit better and isn't as heavy.

When it comes to H22A swaps, weight is MUCH less of an issue than the difficulty of the swap. On the other hands, H22A changeovers are MUCH cheaper than GSR changeovers. They also produce th power of an ITR wth MUCH more torque.

Depends on where you live... I found out recently that around my area "Los Angeles County" that they have been cracking down on Honda's with swaps, especially with JDM motors... Say if your hatch came with a 1.5, and you swap it with a B20, it is 5 more liters than what was orginally intended for the car... But I think that where youre at in Vancouver that the race unit or cops go around popping hoods or random cars, so I think you would be good.

To answer your question you can go with an H22, or a b20. Really depending on your budget as well.

LS1's in hatchbacks??? Thats crazy... The only LS1 Swap I have heard of is the LS1 Swap into a FC or FD RX-7

Anything is possible with enough weld and fab . The easiest and most reliable swap would be a 1.8L B18C1 out of a USDM/JDM Integra GS-R. Enjoy.

What a waste.

Just do some research. See what's swappable and what has already been done. Judging by your lack of knowledge I'd recommend a DOHC ZC swap for your first swap. More then fun to drive.

Still, reported for lack of tech.

Thank you, I'm surprised people still believe that the H22 weighs a significant weight more than a B.

The H22 weighs 25 some odd pounds, give or take, more than a B16. And it's no heavier than a K20.

What's the BEST engine for my Honda?

Answer:
125cc Honda dirt bike motor. It weighs under 50lbs, revs to 10000rpms, and makes 320hp/liter.

There, now that we solved the question that is constantly on everyone's mind, let's talk about pizza.

Seriously now, the best engine for your honda is WHATEVER YOU CAN AFFORD TO BUY!

If you have $1000, DOHC ZC.
If you have $2000, get a 1st gen b16a. It'll cost that much to get it in.
If you have $4000, get a GSR/B18C1.
If you have $5500, get a ITR/B18C5.
If you have $10K, and no use for your car for a month or two... get a K20.
Edited for the Whiners:
This is NOT a complete list, as there are mini-mes, LS-VTEC swaps, budget/poor man's ITRs, etc. Use the damn search button a bit more religiously.

What's the best engine for boost... the one that gets TUNED properly.
What's the best engine for drag racing... the one you spend the most money on making FAST.
What's the best engine for road racing... same thing.
What's the most reliable engine... the one you MAINTAIN religiously.
What's the cheapest engine... the one that's in your car.

I think you meant to say half a liter more.

an old grassroots motorsports I have at the house has an ~84 crx with a carburated 350. Made it RWD too, it was kinda cool.

Most epopel do 1.8 b/c they are perfect h/p and torque wise. The bigger you go the weeker the sleeves get. so just becareful especially if your going to boost it. i would recomened 1.6 or 1.8 dohc

What do you mean the bigger you go the weaker the sleeves are? Maybe if you bore an engine out, but a 1.8 does not have weaker sleeves than a 1.6

Thanks for the misinformation.
