Default Question About GSR Motor

My Buddy has a GSR motor...it been sitting around for awhile..he had the intake manifold taken off from the motor...and left it expose....will it be fine to start up the motor?

maybe. maybe not. This is totally vague question.

YOUR guess is better than anyone else's. Did anything get in the motor? Mice? pebbles? a penny? If not, then you should be fine.

I would take out the spark plugs and spray some WD40 inside. Spray some WD40 inside the intake manifold side of the head to lubricate valves. Then try to spin the engine by hand, using a wrench. If it spins nicely, then you are good for the install. I had an engine that sat for 4 years, dropped it in and was pealing rubber.

i check out the motor today...look inside of it...i grab a q-tip and bush along the wall of the head...it came out clean

get a vacum and vacum up the ports of the intake side and you shud be fine

also turn it over by hand a frw times and see how it feels. drain the oil out and fill it with freash oil turn it over. if you feel some grinding then you kow there is a little rust in the engine.

Tell your buddy for future reference to apply tape across open intake and exhaust ports.
