Radio Removal
Ok so plz nobody flame me for not looking or anything but i was just curious if anybody had a quick description on how to get the stock radio out of a 98 accord coupe so i can put an aftermarket one in?
Ok and one more quick question. If anybody here has a 98-02 accord coupe and has had the front doors apart. Can u give me any clue is to how much mounting depth ill be working with in the front doors? Cuz i have some speakers that are pretty deep and i was just curious if they would fit before i actually tore the whole door apart to find out?
The easiest way to find that answer would be to go to http://www.crutchfield.com , enter your car's information, and see what they say will fit. You don't have to buy from them of course but you can use them as a guide to figure out what fits, then buy them from either them or elsewhere.
By the way, which head unit are you putting in it? I'm tossing around the idea of dropping in an Alpine CDA 9886 into mine, a new model - I like it because it's an Alpine that can control my CD changer plus it has a USB input
With regard to the CD changer, yeah, I know, changers are obsolete, but I've had this one for over nine years and it is worth next to nothing on ebay, so might as well keep it. And with regard to the USB port - I absolutetly love the USB port on the radio I have in my Camry, a Sony GT410U. I just keep a flash drive or two (2GB each) loaded with podcasts or music and listen to those. I also have a 40 GB portable hard drive that I have some music on, I can plug that in and listen to songs off of that. Imagine a 80 GB or 120 GB hard drive, full of .mp3s, on shuffle mode...

wow they tell u to take out stuff that is unnecessary...2 screws under the center console (dash), pop clock off 1screw behind there, the rest of the dash is held on by clips which you can pull off...dont forget to unplug the climate control harnesses....radio is held in by 4 screws/8mm bolts....
Yea i used crutchfield and im pretty sure the speakers i have will fit. And i am putting an Alpine 9857 in it. Its not made anymore but its only like a year old. Plays mp3s and has a hook up for my ipod. And three sets of preamp outputs so its all i need.
