anti freeze level dropping
A bad headgasket can do this, but there are also many other things that could cause your car to lose antifreeze fast. I will throw some out there, and maybe some other HT mebers will add to the list.
- radiator leak
- radiator hose leak
- heater hose leak
- heater core leak (although this is usually noticed in the car first)
- water pump leak (although they are usually fairly slow)
- thermostat housing leak
- coolant inlet housing leak
- freeze plug leak
- and of course the infamous head gasket leak
To check for a headgasket leak you will likely need to perform a headgasket test...
Good luck finding the leak...
