Default Spoon battery post is loose and causing electrical short, need help...PLEASE!

The deal is, one of my posts (the positive one) is loose on the battery and causing a short...basically the car starts sometimes and sometimes not...I noticed there's this clear epoxy glue under the terminals that holds them in place in addition to allen bolts on the side and the glue under the positive post is cracked by the previous owner... anyone know if that's what causing the short and if I can fix it myself with the same type of glue or something similar? Anyone know what kind of glue that is? Some help or ideas would be much appreciated...
Thanks... And no thanks to people who look at the thread and not offer any good info or a bump!
