Default hood pins lockable which are the best. theft prevention

So now, it is time to invest in some "gay *** lockable hood pins". The reason I say this is that I would rather not, have to rock the hood pins. I think it takes away the clean factor of a nice car. Nevertheless, this day in age it is needed, because of all the thieves. Last night my buddy got the hood popped on the old eg. They popped the hood from the outside to expose, the lovely motor. Now this sucks. They know now what he is running. Can we say douche-bags! I knew you could. So more security is needed. What hood pin system do you people recommend, and which is known to be 100% effective. Plus can’t have any known public flaws. Also my buddy and I both rock the NRG quick release steering wheel and hub lock system, and alarms.

to thieves.

I don't think anything can be done to make it 100% theft proof...they could probably still cut the hood pins to get into the engine (it would probably only slow them down)

Your best bet would be to lock the car in a garage, and stand guard with your Glock and AR-15 (or other weapons of choice)...It sucks we don't live in a country where people get punished for doing wrong!

I tend to think that hood pins draw undue attention to a car and what is under it's pinned hood.

i say get hood pins, then hook electricity to them. Shock the would-be hood poppers.

Or you could get these with the locks on them.

Weld hood shut. Grind welds to change oil. Rinse, repeat.

You know what else is a pretty good idea? On an 88-91 civic(don't remember other generations), drill holes in the long bolts that hold the mounts to the car. Put a padlock on all these. Weld the other bolts that go through the mount, to the mount. Use tamper-resistant torx fasteners throughout. hook up the hood sensor to the alarm with a spare battery concealed in the trunk/hatch.

You'll have to grind welds to swap the motor, but it's a bit safer. Take the thief longer, and make him have to work for it.

time to buy a 76 cvcc. nobody would want to open the hood on it. it's terrible you can't even drive or own a honda any more. it might even come to doing this.

Well a pretty easy and free thing to do is relocate the hood release cable. Instead of having in run through the fender and under the bumper, pull it back and run it through the engine bay. Makes it alot harder to pop the hood from the outside by doing this. I did this and it only took 20 minutes.

relocating the hood release cable is pretty easy and benificial, but in addition you can also make a peice of sheet metel to cover and prevent access to the hood latch.

that sucks dude, f^%king douche bags

maybe its time to setup a security camera too.

also do you guys have hood sensors for the alarms?

heres a link for relocating the hood cable

I had an idea for theft prevention. I have been installing home security systems for awhile now. Some of the newer sensors are pretty simple and could be mounted cleanly and hidden in the doors of our hondas. These wireless sensors can be programmed to run with the home security sytems I install.

Every time you arm up the system. and someone opens your door the alarm will go off.

What thief would report a booby trapped car. By the way let me catch him screaming it will give me time to load my sig. I feel sorry for the person who tries to hit my car up. Please please please try!

Having a sig and NOT keeping it loaded...does not sound too great

It's a shame that CA has reached that point though. In my neck of the woods I have had nay a problem in almost 6 years.

About 220lb's each person. They took off running after the neighbor heard the alarm go off and saw them standing in front of the car. with the hood popped. This is my roommates car by the way. Not mine. So they ran off and then cops came couldn't find them.. I wish i was home last night i would have come out like a mothafucking ninja. -Both mexican'ts had black hoodies on.

I'd just set up watch and come out with a good sized crowbar next time you see them.

Or try placing them under "citizens arrest" with the business end of a .45.
