I need repairs, so I need to bolt back in my stock header for a while. I have a custom exhaust (not a name brand) and will need to have it cut and flanged to meet the stock header. Now when bolting the header to the cat in a stock configuration, one would normally use spring loaded exhaust bolts from factory... my problem is that I don't have 'em. Do I have to use the stockers or can I buy a pair from the parts store ? If so, what length would I need to get ?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You have to get them for the dealer. I had to take my turbo off for inspections and i tried using a spring bolt from pep boys. They didn’t work there was exhaust leaks and i failed so i spend the $30 and got the two bolts, nuts and springs from the dealer.

 

Yikes ! $30 for a spring loaded bolt ??

 

That’s if you have the hook up. The dood told me the bolts a $8 a peace and the springs are $15 a peace. I tried to fiend the original ones i took off but there is so much **** in my garage i couldn’t find them.

 

Same here with losing the bolts.
