***JDM ITR Piston Selection***(Help, Going 81.5mm)
First off, plase excuse my noobieness, I have searched but found so many contadictions about the best way to built this and the right way to raise that. And seeing that every engine build can be different. I want to make sure that I am getting th right parts for my build and am going to have the right clearances!
I'm looking for some help and sugestions.
I have a 97 EK hatch with a JDM ITR sawp with I am guessing 70k+ miles and she is burning oil due to the previous owner beating the **** out if it.
I am having a machine shop bore out to 81.5mm and hone the block as well as balance and polish the crank and proabably assymbile the short block as well. I will be providing the rods, pistons, bearings, ect. The head is getting a full upgrade w/ Buddy club stg. IV cams, gears, springs, flat faced valves, Ti retainers, and new valves seals. I will porbably go with Hondata s300 to run it all.
My question is, what pistons do/should I have to run to raise the compression from the factory 11.0~1(Correct me if I am wrong) to about 12.0-12.5~1? The shop told me that I can't deck that much and I have to get bigger pistons to up the comp. Keep in mind the flat valves.
Thanks guys, and positve info is GREATLY appreciated!
