Default Federal announces 595RS-R with 140 treadwear rating

coming out in late december
i guess its federals way to compete with the bridgestones, azenis, mx, hankooks?

and i guess they heard everyones cry for the super soft sidewall that the first 595RS had
had a similar feel to the toyo T1Rs

the new RS-R tire now has a reinforced sidewall
hopefully the steering response will be a hell of a lot better

i plan to get a set

heres the first 595RS i tried and wasnt too happy about
but the grip was there....it just lacked the response

(tires on right)

Yes, everyone's trying to get into that market (supersticky tires suitable for street and track use). It's no surprise, given how often those tires need replacing.

Dunlop's new Direzza Sport Z1 is already available, and the Kumho Ecsta XS and the Toyo Proxes R1-R will both be available soon.

The Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R is on the market but prices are a lot higher than the Falken Azenis RT-615. The pricing of the Dunlop is surprisingly close to the Azenis. No word yet on pricing for the other new entries.

Nice sizes on the Toyo R1-R! 225/45/15 and 275/40/17. A ton of EVO and Sti owners are going to eat those 275s up

Looks like decisions b/t running streets or entry level R comps like Toyo RA1 just got easier.. . Stay Streets as long as possible with these options!
