I now realize I am one of those who is doomed with uploading vids to a pc from a mini DV camera

I have tried a new mini DV camera and a friends new laptop. I have tried both USB and firewire with no response from 2 cameras, 2 laptops, and 2 cables......

I have researched the issue and there are a lot of people having the same problem. There doesn't seem to be an easy fix as usually trial and error (as I have done), disabling/enabling the drive, opening software to read the camera are suggestions. I have tried it all the past 5 days and now I give up.

Anyone in the Mcdonough (south of ATL) area that is able to upload Mini DV to a hard drive via firewire and can help me I'd really appreciate it.

I just need the video uploaded and then I will edit the races on my pc. Thanks for any help you can offer
