can i use a twin scroll turbo on a normal non twin scroll manifold

i have a t3 gt35r with the twin scrool /divided hotside and i want to use it with a regular open scrool ram horm manifold

what effect will this have? i'm guess just less than normal top end power

if you dont mind doing some grinding you can always knife edge the divider on the turbine inlet to help with flow. it probably wont have any negative effect, you just wont get the benefit of the split pulse setup.

Don't knife edge it just round the edges so a hot spot can't have a place to start and casue a crack.

A divided housing has more surface area to sap energy, so technically it would spool like a larger AR but with the power of a smaller AR.

One thing you could do is what some people have done with huge holsets & undivided manifolds. Basicly put a diverter valve between the mani and turbo - run one side for spoolup, both for boost. They use a lower psi wastegate actuator to unblock the other scroll to open up the exhaust. I recall a guy doing it on some ford - w/o it he made about 10psi right before redline, with it he hit 12psi halfway to redline and obviously would make more power at redline since it was 2psi more and used both scrolls.

This is basicly like cutting the AR in half, letting you run an even larger AR than normal. You could also use this with a divided manifold, letting the valve block the port and connect both cylinder pairs while blocking one scroll, then divide the cylinder pairs as it opens up the other side of the housing.

Its proven to work by statistics that prove it.

thanks for the info but thats too much work

so if i use this turbo it will just spool slow like it has a large ar but it will also make sub power like as if it had a small ar hot side housing
