ek hatch with sun-roof?
can't tell where that ek is from but it's rhd... and here in Australia (we rhd too fyi) all the EK4s came with sunroof standard, we got the rhd model from jdm land (with the bumper mouldings too)
a friend of mine has a ek w/ the sun/moon roof. He got it from another friend who crashed his 95 civic ex. I don't know how the process went, by the time I knew it...he had the thing on his ek.

The picture you posted probably has it from factory.
Any usdm civic hatch will have it aftermarket. Even from the dealer, it's aftermarket. It's custom work the dealer had done. It was NOT done in a honda plant.

Wrong.
That car has a factory moonroof.
USDM '96-'00 Civic hatchbacks do not have factory moonroofs.
Here is the easy way to tell if a moonroof is stock or not on a 6th gen Civic. Look at the seal. This needs to be done up close. The stock moonroof seal goes around the glass and when the roof is open, the seal goes with the glass. On an aftermarket moonroof, the roof doesn't curl in like the stock moonroof cut roof panel. So the seal has to go around the sharp edge of the car where the holes has been cut into the roof panel.
Most larger markets in other countries seem to have standard moonroofs on the hatchbacks. The CTR (which is JDM only) doesn't have a standard moonroof. The only two trims in the US are the CX and DX hatch and neither has a factory moonroof.
Oh, and UK plates are long, not more square like this one. This does not look like a UK car. I have a UK rear plate here (which is yellow for the rear).
I know it's Wikipedia, but the info isn't that bad and it does give some good pics.

Just because it was at the dealer like that does NOT make it oem. The dealer contracted a sunroof installer do put it in that.
NOT ONE usdm cx/dx hatch 96-00 came with a sunroof/moonroof from the HONDA FACTORY.

Congratulations. This thread is about 6th gens (aka "EKs" aka '96-'00 Civics), not "EGs".
A sunroof is a panel in the roof that can open. A moonroof is a sunroof that is see through. So, all moonroofs are sunroofs, but not all sunroofs are moonroofs.
The glass thingy you speak of, most people would just refer to as glass, though it is usually tempered glass to help prevent it from cracking. A sunroof would usually have a metal panel in place of the glass.

Someone told me that it was possible to get a USDM EK hatchback with a moonroof only if it was custom-ordered by a customer back when they were being made still. It was installed at the factory (not the dealership) and was identical to the SI's (EX's for you Americans) moonroof.

There isn't even a roof panel, headliner or moonroof assembly listed in the parts catalog for the USDM Civic hatches. And no, the coupe and/or sedan parts don't all fit. The roof panel and headliner, for example, are unique to the hatch.
