Default S2000 Fiber Hood

Can anyone tell me how much does the OEM hood weighs, and how low can a Carbon Fiber one be.

carbon fiber doesnt hold heat so at least your car might stay cooler

What does this have to do with the claim that c/f hoods don't retain heat?

im sure more then 98% of the "CF" hoods out there are fiberglass with "cf" overlay. the cost of a real full CF hood is a lot more then your 200-400 hoods on the market. i never stated that CF does not retain heat, i know its good against that.

I'm only looking to reduce weight, big difference. Not only 10 lb or something.

If that's your goal then don't even bother. The OEM hood is as light as it gets unless you want to dish out some big money.

Most people get a vented hood for the purpose of reducing under hood temperatures, not to reduce weight.

If you want a hood thats lighter than stock, cut out 3 vents... itll reduce it by a good 12.73 ounces which equates into a hp/weight ratio gain of .000024

haha sorry man im not trying to upset you. i am just not a civic man. i like tegs a lot though, i swapped cars with my friend one time and it was the first gsr i had ever driven, or b18 for that matter, and i absolutely loved it. i plan on getting a gsr for a beater in the future and i would love to own a itr as a second car. i am just not into putting so much time in money into a economy car such as a civic. i love carbon fiber pieces under the hood and in the interior. i just dont think it looks good outside of the car. i understand why people buy it...to lose weight, but half of these civic guys dont even have real ****...they just bought it because it "looks cool".

to each his own, i usually agree with you 99% of the time
