Common problem on 7th gens. I had this happen to mine already, pull away the trunk carpet lining and you can pull the little tab out that holds the gas tank shut.

Go to http://www.fueldoorfix.com to get your solution

All Honda does is replace the entire cable. It has a faulty design, so it'll just break again.

I bought my car new and it happened at 50k miles. It wasnt under warranty anymore, and I just said I heard it happens all the time. They fixed it for free instead of $180, but I do a LOT of business w/ that dealer so they mightve hooked me up.

new cable is slightly different, has like a protective tape to help keep the part that always breaks from corroding

Just stick ur hand in there, feel for the wire and the plug, turn it 180 degrees, and pull. The lid should pop open.
