It looks like the passenger axel may have slid out, but not all the way out. Wouldn't the tranny still be in gear if the other axel is still in? The clutch spins bet does not grab.

And make sure you're using the right combo.
I'm frankly amazed that you had an axle actually fall out, though I guess its not that hard to do.
In the future, making an extremely vague post like the first one will make responses more gruelingly slow, you're better off starting with your problem and a full list of symptoms and things you've tested.

i don't know but it only slipped out a lil bit, maybe 2-3inches. But the clutch spins and it made a kind of grinding noise when I put the car in gear and let out the clutch. Could that be the axel teeth grinding with the tranny?

More than likely.

make sure your snap ring on the axle is good.....and also i remember one time me and my friend did a swap and we didnt torque the axle nuts right or stake them and what you described is exactly what happened..till we did that of course....we realized we forgot to do it when we could let out the clutch and the car would go nowhere
Make sure you have the right axel on the right side
Full splined axel goes into halfshaft on driver sidr
Half splined in tranny on passenger side
You have to fully seat the axels and test them by pulling on the cv joint HOUSING!
Not the shaft or the boot. If it doesn't come out after you pull then its in!
The circlip must lock in place or it will slide out
