I have a stock 97 Lx and its having problems. Here is what it does. When I drive above 45+ MPH the whole car shakes like it has a flat. I check the wheels and they aren't flat. I checked my lug nuts and they are tight. The wheels are fine. I don't know if this has to do with anything involving my problem but when its in gear and I step on the accelerator it jerks and it will decelerate with a jerk too. could it be invovling with my air? It has a check engine light but last time I checked it, it said another code. It had nothing to do with my problems. I will get the code tomorrow.

If wheels are off balance shouldn't it do this right after I changed the wheels? It has been a whole day before it started doing this.

Could it be bent or something wrong with them? I will check tomorrow. Thanks

 

Any shaking related to going over a certain speed is likely due to wheel balance, alignemnt, or tierods/ball joints.

X2, slipped my mind.

Does your brake pedal pulsate (also steering wheel will shake) when applying them over those your claimed speeds?

 

Thanks guys I will take a look tomorrow morning. I don't know if this has to do with my problems but the wheels don't butterfly though.
