How much would of a difference would a
Rear strut tower bar for an eg make? I also have: Koni shocks, H&R springs, skunk2 upper control arms, stock si front sway bar, ASR rear subframe brace, oem type R rear sway bar with blox end links, and a front strut tower bar.. I'm just trying to make it more fun for the streets. But i don't personally know anyone with a rear tower bar.. Just thought i'd get some opinions here.

zilch
added one to my Integra (already with springs and Koni shocks, stock front bar, and ITR rear sway bar) and felt no difference at all. I only put it in because it was given to me for free and I use it to secure my subwoofer box.

Ditto.
I had one welded into my track car as part of my SCCA/NASA-legal roll bar.
Can't say that it did anything for the dynamic feel or for lap times, but it sure makes a great tire rack for hauling race tires.

ive never added one to a fixed up car, but ive added them to stock eg's 4 times in teh past and it always made a difference, all 3 times i used a cusco bar adjusted to push the shocktowers out. perhaps on a car with more suspension mods it may not bee too noticable, but on a stock car its night and day, i've had 4 civic's myself and tried this on all of them.

Yeah, in the weight of your wallet . . .
Yeah, in the weight of your wallet . . .
to be honest with u. you don't even need that stuff for ur car if u want it to handle like a race car then u should put a cage in your car and tie all the points together that is the only way that you are going to tell with chassis stiffness. i know this off hand cause i work for a race team and i also help the guys up the street"calculated risk race team" with the building of there honda challenge race cars. so i know my fare share about seting up a car to handle better than anyones on the street. in my town im the guy to come to when u want ur car to hanndle better. i dont want to see some kid out buy a rear strut bar and waist his money on it when it realy doesnt help. there so much more stuff u can do to make your car handle better.

Well, since they're a dime a dozen I ordered one to find out myself. Before I even opened this topic. If anything, i'll have an extremely sturdy bracket for my sub box. Targa250R seems to think they make a difference, so hopefully he is just the only one paying enough attention to notice. And as for the Full cage.. I'm sure thats hardly a better alternative in my case. Driving a roll cage to work everyday would be a bit silly. But still, the input is appreciated.
spending $40-$150 for a rear strut bar is non-sense. Purchase a ebay one for $10-20 and call it day. I got my ebay rear strut for free and honestly, it made a difference. I know alot of people have different opinions on this strut, but IMO it made a difference. If anything, i'd rather have the rear strut bar on there than not.

I don't, actually. I've used various strut tower braces on my Hondas and none of them were worthwhile.

hooray! keep in mind though mine is a cusco and its pretty sturdy, i may agree with people that once you have stiff springs and upgraded rear sway bar it may not make a difference, but on a car with drop springs it was night and day for me on more than one occasion.
the expereince ive had with the cheaper bars though was pretty bad, when i went to adjust them they just bent instead
so i think you might not notice too much with a cheap bar, but i hope it works out good.

DC sports $119

cusco $136

i consider that in between cheap and expensive considering mugen is $329 or the miracle brace $500+

Any chassis brace that is "adjustable" is garbage.
If it's not one solid piece, you may as well forget it.

i wouldent say that, but then again this is one of those topics that can be debated till the end of time, so we can all just agree to disagree
it all comes down to if the end user is happy, im happy with having one, plenty of people are happy without them too
