Swap Qusetion D15b2 into 95 delsol
allright so i got a motor today, its a d15b2 vtec, that came originally out of a crx i think. it was then swapped to odb1 for a d3 civic hatch, it looks the exact same as my d15b7 thats in my other delsol but vtec. the question is what distributor do i need to use as my new motor came not with one and a obd0 ecm pm6? will a d16z6 dizzy from my sol and original p28 run this with my old z6 harness? just tryin to figure out what to buy... thanks for the help in advance
d15b2 was not a Vtec engine. If you have a z6 vtec head on the b2 block you'll need a td42u dizzy, If it is not vtec but still the b2 head, you'll use a td01u dizzy. Need more info to really answer ?
it has a vtec head, not sure if its a z6? how can i tell? it is a d15b2 with a vtec head, that is obd1. im guessing that it has to be a z6 head because that was the only d series from 92-95 that was vtec right? so everything including my dizzzy should work. thanks
Well, there was the vtec-e 1.5 liter engine but I highly doubt that is what they put on it. If you send me a pic of the head I could tell you. Yes those parts will work fine if you do in fact have the z6 head on it.
if it says p08 it's a z6 head
if it says p2j it's a y8 head
if it has a big H O N D A on the valve cover, this is the valve cover the y8 uses.
However you can put a y8 valve cover on a z6 head.
