considering it's almost 500 just for that panel ( http://www.hondaautomotivepart...PANEL )
I'd say your looking at at least $1K, unless you have a hookup at a body shop

Not sure how things are in NY, but in Pa a lot of place give free estimates, body shops around here get about 80/hr. labor and parts I think you might be up around the $2000 mark, maybe more. get an estimate and let us know

Over 1k because they have to source that panel and cut the old one out/weld a new one in and paint it.

If you don't have insurance I suppose you could try to pull it out yourself....what do you have to loose?

i do have insurance but my friend hit me. so he may just want to pay for it himself out of pocket to avoid his rates going up.

exactly, and yea try it yer self, all it involves is removing everthing around the panel, using a saw-zaw ans drill out any spot welds, then go put a good panel off a junked lude and weld it in, then just get it painted. good luck

Yeah for a good job, i estimate about 2,500. I had very similar damage and my mid range quote was about 2,000. Goodluck with it

i just got a quote on bangin it out and painting it for 800

thanks to rich045 for the hookup...

but im gonna be checking one more place to see if they can beat it.

remember the car is 12 yrs old so its not really worth it to get a whole new quarter pannel. i just want them to get it the best they can with bangin it out and paintin it

UPDATE:

so i got a good hook up through a reference and its gonna be 525 to bang it out, fix the rust, and repaint it. definitely not worth it to replace the quarter panel in a 12 yr old car...

ill let you guys know how well it comes out. should take 4 working days from today.

be sure to monitor them. if they bang it out and do a shitty job and just throw a ton of body filler over it it'll rust and crack/peel very quickly, and then start to look like *** again

yea ur right i never thought of that. but this car is 13 yrs old and i dont see myself keeping it for that much longer...

but regardless...hopefully this place is as good and reliable and my reference is...

here are the results. it cost 525...dropped off on thursday afternoon and done by tuesday night.

it could be better, but im satisfied with the job. especially for the price. i had no idea what to expect so i dont know if it could have done better. only complaint is that the paint on the bumper isnt as glossy as the rest of the body. better pics soon, but for now here are some camera phone pics.
